Spurgeon Speaks to Modern Readers

Answers in Genesis is working on a new project to update Spurgeon's sermons into modern-day language. Their aim, is to make the richness of Spurgeon's sermons more accessible to the modern reader, through updating the text into current language.

"Larry Pierce—who’s behind the Online Bible software, the translation of James Ussher’s The Annals of the World into modern English, and the upcoming translation of Isaac Newton’s works—along with his wife, Marion, want to give Spurgeon’s sermons new life. Thanks to the Electronic Bible Society (EBS) in Texas, Larry was able to update these sermons, not to change the meaning, but to make them more easily understood by modern readers."-AIG

    GDS Theme Passage

"For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus
Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for
Jesus' sake. For God, who said, 'Let light shine
out of darkness,' has shone in our hearts to give
the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in
the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure
in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power
belongs to God and not to us."
    - 2 Corinthians 4:5-7
