GDS Valentines Series Intro

The rest of this week we will be posting a series of articles exploring what Love should look like in light of the gospel.

To really understand Love, we must understand the greatest kind of Love--the Love God has for his children. Through the articles we will be posting for the series, we will be showing the different ways God displays his Love towards his children, and how we should relate to others in light of that kind of Love.

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another." - John 13:34

“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. These things I command you, so that you will love one another."
- John 15:12-17

    GDS Theme Passage

"For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus
Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for
Jesus' sake. For God, who said, 'Let light shine
out of darkness,' has shone in our hearts to give
the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in
the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure
in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power
belongs to God and not to us."
    - 2 Corinthians 4:5-7
