Brit Hume: Purseuing Faith Instead of Headlines

Brit Hume, who is one of our favorite anchors at Fox News Network, will soon be leaving his anchor position behind to pursue Christ rather than his job. He is an intelligent and heartfelt newscaster who has been with FNN for over 12 years. Some might ask why, at the prime of ones career, would someone choose to step down? But, we see in the Bible that every accolade that we could ever gain is nothing compared to know Christ's worth and glory.

"Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith - that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead."
Philippian 3:8-11

"For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it. For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? For what can a man give in return for his soul?"
Mark 8:35-37

    GDS Theme Passage

"For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus
Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for
Jesus' sake. For God, who said, 'Let light shine
out of darkness,' has shone in our hearts to give
the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in
the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure
in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power
belongs to God and not to us."
    - 2 Corinthians 4:5-7
